4:54 p.m. Friday — A vehicle driven by Miles Confer, 18, of Butler struck the side of a vehicle driven by Wendy Laconi, 34, of Butler while she was stopped at a red light on East Wayne Street. Confer's driver's side mirror struck Laconi's passenger side mirror. Police report Confer fled. He was charged with hit-and-run.12:16 p.m. Thursday — Doug Yasisnkny, 52, of Butler reported the theft overnight of a Halloween flag from his porch at 219 Amy St. The $50 flag is black with a pumpkin.Wednesday — Michael A. Mackalica, 38, of Lyndora was charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving with a suspended license, operating a vehicle without a valid inspection, not having the vehicle registration and not having insurance following an equipment violation stop at 6:54 a.m. Monday at Diamond Park. Police report Mackalica refused to stop on his electric motorbike, eventually leading to a foot chase at the park. Police found a baggie with marijuana, rolling papers, three glass marijuana pipes and one metal marijuana pipe in his pockets.

2:44 a.m. Friday — Someone threw stones causing damage to 12 mailboxes at Northwood Apartments on Grove City Road in Slippery Rock Township. Anyone with information about the incident should call police at 724-284-8100.3 p.m. Thursday — A 13-year-old boy Bruin who was walking in the 180 block of Main Street in Karns City was struck by a vehicle driven by Michael Bowser of Butler. The boy was trying to pick up a peach laying on the street. The boy received unspecified injuries. No charges were filed against Bowser.Wednesday — Portersville Christian Academy on East Portersville Road in Muddy Creek Township reported letters being burned onto its soccer field between 9 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. A damage estimate was unavailable Saturday morning.

5:10 p.m. Thursday — Brian J. Kenney of Pittsburgh was cited for retail theft after allegedly stealing two pairs of tennis shoes worth a total of $120 from Factory Brand Shoes Prime Outlets in Springfield Township.2:25 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Buddy Meade of Freedom, Pa., and a car driven by Dennis Duddy of New Castle collided on Route 19 in Springfield Township. Meade's passenger, Susan Meade, also of Freedom, who was wearing a seat belt, and Duddy's passenger, a 1-year-old in a child seat, received minor injuries. Both drivers were wearing seat belts and were not injured. Meade was cited for not yielding the right of way while making a left turn.State Police, Lawrence6:35 a.m. Friday — An SUV driven by John Henke, 36, of New Castle struck a tree off Route 956 in Scott Township. He was wearing a seat belt and received minor injuries. He told police he swerved off the road to avoid a deer.
