ZELIENOPLE — The Community Park Association will seek public comments on a proposed Memorial Skatepark at a Sept. 23 meeting.

The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. at shelter no. 2 in community park.

The association and borough have approved the concept and location for the park although the plans still need approval, said Jeff Barkley, president of the association.

The association wants community input on the plans before it seeks approval from borough council, Barkley said.

The park would honor three teenagers who were killed in a car accident in 2010: Trevor Barkley, Sam Bucci and Elijah Lunsford.

A committee has been raising money for the proposed skate park with an eventual goal of $400,000.
