9:01 a.m. Saturday — Matthew Summerville, 26, of Karns City was charged with retail theft after five DVDs were taken from the Kmart store in the Pullman Square shopping center. The items are worth $58.95.6:51 p.m. Aug. 23 — James A. Gall Jr., 32, of Butler was charged with theft and receiving stolen property after a $150 weed eater was taken from Anthony Goss' residence at 604 Eau Claire St. The weed eater and a $200 lawnmower owned by Jeroyd Conyers were recovered at Gall's residence at 545 W. Brady St. Gall was charged in May for allegedly stealing Conyers' mower a previous time on May 16.11:39 a.m. Aug. 19 — Travis Hilliard, 20, of Butler was charged with access device fraud after Amanda Jaskot of Butler reported her National City Bank debit card was stolen. Hilliard allegedly used Amanda Jaskot's ATM card to withdraw $638 over the weekend of Aug. 19 and 20. Jaskot told police Hilliard had access to her PIN number. Hilliard later admitted using the card without Jaskot's authorization.

11:30 p.m. Tuesday — Derrick Mock, 23, of Butler was charged with making terroristic threats after allegedly threatening to kill his girlfriend, Cara Patsy, 19, her small child and her friend, Samuel Shultz, 20, also of East Brady at her East Brady residence on Kellys Way. Mock is accused of tearing a screen window off Patsy's door while yelling threats and saying he had a 9 mm gun. Mock was arraigned before District Judge Dan George in New Bethlehem and placed in the Clarion County Prison.

Monday — Scott Slusser of New Providence, Lancaster County, and Jeremy Summerville of New Castle reported someone broke the window of Slusser's vehicle and stole Summerville's wallet while the vehicle was parked at McConnells Mill State Park in Slippery Rock Township as they were kayaking. The damage to the window is estimated at $75.Saturday — Megan Scarfone of North Versailles reported someone removed her $35 purse from her vehicle while it was parked off Frew Mill Road in Slippery Rock Township as she and her husband were fishing.
