Frank M. Krainbucher, 83, of Butler, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.

Born Sept. 28, 1940, in Butler, he was the son of the late Frank J. Krainbucher and the late Grace (Phipps) Krainbucher.

Frank was a 1959 graduate of Butler High School and went on to serve his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was the captain of the Butler City Fire Department, and retired in 2003 after more than 30 years of service to the Butler community. Frank enjoyed spending his free time hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Shirley J. (Hoffman) Krainbucher, whom he married on April 2, 1966; his daughter, Deborah J. Christy of Butler; his son, Scott J. (Jenna) Krainbucher of Butler; his granddaughter, Maddie S. Krainbucher; two brothers, David L. (Kathy) Krainbucher of Butler and Robert B. (Nancy) Krainbucher of New Kensington; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Kenneth L. Christy.

KRAINBUCHER — Per his wishes, all services will be held privately for Frank M. Krainbucher, who died Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2023.

Burial will be at Greenlawn Burial Estates.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler, PA 16001.
