Cynthia Pate

Pate

Cynthia Clarisse (Iams) Pate, 68, passed away unexpectedly at her apartment in Butler on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2023.

Born on June 23, 1955, in Strasbourg, France, Cynthia was the beloved daughter of Jeanne (Palmer) Iams and the late Charles Iams.

For nearly three decades, Cynthia served as a registered nurse in the ICU at West Penn Hospital. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond the hospital setting, touching the lives of everyone she encountered.

Cynthia was affectionately known as “Ceeda,” by her late husband, Kenneth Pate, whose memory she cherished since his unexpected passing in 2015. Cynthia’s passing marks a poignant reunion with Ken, as they are once again reunited in eternal peace.

At the heart of Cynthia's life was her family. She loved her three daughters, Heather (Erica) Bilski, Danielle (Nick) Pate and Brittany (Scott) Pate-Smith. She also found immeasurable joy in the moments she shared with her three grandchildren, Kadin Serafine, 13, Emerson Bilski, 6, and Hayden Bilski, 2.

Alongside her daughters, Cynthia (“Cinderella”) found companionship and support in William Johnson (“Baker Bill”), and together they found fun ways of infusing joy into everyday life. Her love for “Milkshake Mondays,” Jeep Fest, morning breakfasts, and road trips to Hermitage became cherished traditions, bringing with them lots of smiles, laughter and memories.

In addition to her immediate family, Cynthia is survived by her two younger sisters, Michelle (Stephen) Beecroft of Redmond, Wash., and Lisa (Whitney) Roberts of Pleasant Grove, Utah. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews, Jennifer (Chris) Tuft, Macie Pate, Braden Pate, Callianne Roberts, Jace Roberts, Ty (Allyson) Roberts, Alaina Roberts, Traverz Roberts, Matthew Beecroft, Sean (Brontë) Beecroft, Michael Beecroft, Sarah Beecroft and Mark Beecroft.
