I don't live in Butler anymore as you can see by my location. I am responding to the Letter to the Editor by Armand Cingolani III today regarding the County Commissioners discussing a smoking ban. Although I don't know what kind of ban they are proposing, Mr. Cingolani feels that the Commissioners have no authority to impose such a ban. From all the medical reports I have seen it has been vividly demonstrated that smoking and even second hand smoke are to be avoided so as lower the risk of lung ailments from emphazima (sp?) to cancer. I know from personal experience that with asthma and a non-smoker I have to gasp for breath at times when someone who is a smoker sits near me due to the second hand smoke on their clothing. I would praise the Commissioners for trying to sustain the health of all in the Butler area by enacting smoking bans in all public and private places (outside your own home of course).
