John E. Sanderson
John E. Sanderson, 57, of Butler died Sunday at the Cleveland Clinic.
He was born March 10, 1952, in Butler, a son of the late Harvey and Margaret Fair Sanderson.
John was a communications technician for Verizon for the past 13 years. He began his career in the telephone industry for Henkels and McCoy in 1969.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
John enjoyed flower gardening, fishing and hunting.
He was a member of the St. Fidelis Roman Catholic Church in Meridian.
His wife, Mary Bernadette Moscar Sanderson, who he married June 20, 1981, survives. Also surviving are his daughter and her husband, Michelle and Cory Newton of Butler; his son, Brad E. Sanderson of Butler; a brother and his wife, Gary and Carol McDonald of Heiber, Ariz.; and three sisters, Mrs. Jackie McElhaney of Glenshaw, Mrs. Lori Huba of Butler and Mrs. Gretchen Burnett of Myrtle Beach, S.C. Three aunts, one uncle and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive him.
<B>SANDERSON </B>— Friends of John E. Sanderson, who died Sunday, June 7, 2009, will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Fidelis Roman Church in Meridian with Father James Murphy, pastor, officiating. Interment will follow at the Butler County Memorial Park.The Bereavement Committee of St. Fidelis Parish will meet at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home to conduct a parish vigil service.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
