Erna M. Handyside, 77, of Cranberry Township, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, surrounded by her loved ones. Born Jan. 28, 1946, she was the daughter of the late George and Erna Kraus. She was the beloved wife of the late Kenneth Handyside; loving mother of John (Nancy), Ken (Candace), and Jason; gram of Christine (James), Dr. Emilee (Marshall), Chris and Kenny. She also is survived by many loving relatives and friends who will all miss her dearly.

Erna was a successful entrepreneur, a dedicated member of her church and community, and a woman of compassion to anyone in need. She enjoyed being surrounded by family and friends with good food and better conversation. During her infrequent downtime, she enjoyed the front porch swing at the family camp in northern Pennsylvania. She was a lover of adventure and truly the matriarch of the family.

HANDYSIDE — Family and friends of Erna M. Handyside, who died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2023, are welcome from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at DEVLIN FUNERAL HOME of Cranberry Township, 2678 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township.

A blessing service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will follow at North Side Catholic Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made in Erna’s name to Divine Grace Parish Angel Fund.
