East Brady Area hosts light-up night
The annual East Brady Area Light-Up Night will be held Saturday, Dec. 2 in the borough.
Activities will run from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., including vendors and food at the Allegheny Hills Retirement Residence, the East Brady United Methodist Church and Bridgeview Crossing.
Mortimer’s Music and Antiques will hold an open house from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
A “Cookie Crawl” will run through multiple locations around town from 1-4 p.m. “Cookie Passports” are $7 and available for presale at the borough office through Nov. 29.
Santa and Mrs. Claus will make their appearance at 4 p.m. near Veteran’s Memorial Park, escorted by volunteers of the East Brady Fire Department. Mr. and Mr. Claus will be on hand until 5 p.m. for photos at the Farmer’s National Bank parking lot, alongside holiday music and treats.
The highlight of the day will be the light-up festivities at 5 p.m. in the park, with a ceremony by borough officials, a service for deceased local veteran Al Gilmore and carolers.
The event will also include a 50-50 raffle, which will benefit East Brady Area Development Corporation projects, with tickets on sale at the Allegheny Hills Retirement Residence and during the festivities.
Luminary kits will be available for $10 for the third annual luminary display on Christmas Eve. Kits can also be purchased from the borough office leading up to the festival.
