Ronald A. “Punkin” Kummer, 85, of Butler, passed away peacefully, filled with the love of his family, on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023, while under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice.

Born July 17, 1938, in Butler, he was the son of the late Wilbur F. Kummer and Alice W. (Raabe) Kummer.

He married Lucille J. Rocco, on May 19, 1962, and they shared 61 years of marriage together.

Ron proudly served in the Air Force from 1956 until 1960 in Paris, France. He belonged to St. Conrad Roman Catholic Church. He was a member of American Legion Post 778 and Elks Lodge 170. In his free time, he enjoyed golfing, bowling and spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Lucille “Jeanne” Kummer; his brother, Jack Kummer; his sister, Dutch Bowser; his daughters, Ginger Kummer, Andrea Hutchens and Rena McClaine (Matt); his son, Ronald A. Kummer II (Lynn Yocum); his eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ronald was preceded in death by his brother, C. Fred Kummer.

KUMMER — As per his wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral service for Ronald A. “Punkin” Kummer, who died Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023. A celebration of life gathering will be held at a later date.

Ron chose cremation and his remains will be laid to rest at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies.

Funeral arrangements were entrusted to BOYLAN FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER OF CONNOQUENESSING TOWNSHIP, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew.
