Lillian D. Ernst, 94, of Butler passed away at 5 p.m. Friday at the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Jan. 15, 1917, in New Castle, to the late Herbert E. McClain and Clara Shumaker McClain.

Mrs. Ernst was a former Butler County employee.

She was a member of the Eastern Star, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and a past member of the Business and Professional Women's Club.

She was a member of the Church of the Living Word in Meridian.

Mrs. Ernst is survived by one son, John Ernst and his wife, Susan, of Butler; one daughter, Judy A. Blecha and her husband, William, of Georgia; five grandchildren, Amy Wayne and her husband, Gary, Glenn Atwell, Karen Stice and her husband, James, Jonee Mascellino and her husband, Charles, and Derek Ernst and his wife, Rita; seven great-grandchildren, Angie, Genna, Dylan, Gabriel, Ariana, Alec and Arabella; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by nine brothers and three sisters.

<B>ERNST</B> — Friends of Lillian D. Ernst, who died Friday, July 15, 2011, will be received from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. Funeral services will immediately follow at 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home with Connie Dunn, VNA chaplain, officiating.
