Butler Police2:12 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Nancy Reilly, 76, of Butler struck the rear of a car driven by Jennifer Carney, 36, of Butler while it was stopped at a stop sign at the intersection of West Brady and North Chestnut streets. Reilly told police she may have blacked out due to a medical issue, leading to the accident.

State Police, Kittanning5:09 p.m. Thursday — A car driven by Matthew Badger, 48, of Mars struck the side a minivan driven by David Pierce, 31, of Summerville in Jefferson County that was on the berm of Route 28 after breaking down, causing both vehicles to roll over.Badger was taken by Freeport EMS to Allegheny Valley Hospital in Natrona Heights for treatment of moderate injuries, police said.Pierce, who was sitting in front passenger seat when the impact occurred, sustained minor injuries.Police are investigating the cause of the crash.The South Buffalo Volunteer Fire Department also assisted state police at the scene.
