State Police, Kittanning12:48 p.m. Friday — Gary Lee James Welsh III, 18, of McMurray, Washington County, was charged with possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, disorderly conduct and speeding.Welsh was driving north on Route 28 just south of Exit 17 in Buffalo Township when he was pulled over for driving 84 mph in a 65 mph speed limit zone. During the traffic stop, police smelled marijuana coming from inside the vehicle.Following a search, police allegedly found Welsh to be in possession of 3.1 ounces of marijuana, as well as drug paraphernalia.
State Police, Butler2:30 p.m. Oct. 7 — Keith Dechame Colbert, 32, of Penn Hills, Allegheny County was charged with theft.Police said Colbert was at the residence of John Wayne Webb, 47, at 221 Stoops Road in West Sunbury, when he copied the number of Webb’s welfare card while Webb was sleeping. Colbert later made an unauthorized purchase with the card at a Giant Eagle in Pittsburgh, according to police.
