AHN and Highmark Health launch TelelCU program
Allegheny Health Network and Highmark Health announced Wednesday, Nov. 8, the launch of the TeleICU program, which combines telehealth technology and the expertise of AHN intensivists for centralized, 24/7 monitoring and management of critically ill patients.
This program will virtually connect a centrally located team of AHN board-certified critical care physicians, nurses and data assistants with bedside hospitalists and nurses in intensive care units at six of the network’s hospitals across Western Pennsylvania.
It will utilize the FDA-approved eCareManager telehealth software platform from Philips to support continuous ICU monitoring through an infrastructure of real-time monitors, electronic medical records and two-way, audiovisual conferencing.
The program will be used at AHN’s Allegheny Valley Hospital, Canonsburg Hospital, AHN Grove City, Jefferson Hospital, Wexford Hospital and Saint Vincent Hospital in Erie.
