A. Wayne Harmon, 87, of Evans City died Saturday at UPMC Passavant Hospital, McCandless Township.

Born Aug. 7, 1921, in Bessemer, he was the son of the late William Jefferson and Lena (Byers) Harmon.

Mr. Harmon proudly served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army.

In 1986, he retired from the M.S.A. maintenance department.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Evans City American Legion Post 219 and the M.S.A. Golf League.

Mr. Harmon's first love was golf, he also enjoyed watching sports, bowling, horses and horse racing.

He is survived by his son, Doug W. Harmon and his wife, Cindy, of Meridian; four daughters, Carrie Barr and her husband, James, of Grove City, Sandi Koziar of Butler, Debra Jordan and her husband, Ronald, of Callery and Jennifer Harmon of Evans City. He also is survived by 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, a sister and a grandson.

<B>HARMON</B> — Friends of A. Wayne Harmon, who died Saturday, June 27, 2009, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>,<B> </B>116 E. Main St., Evans City. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with Pastor Gary Brown officiating.
