RUFFSDALE — A 75-year-old bow hunter died after falling from a tree stand.

Westmoreland County Deputy Coroner Gerald Fritz said Jere Kennelty of Youngwood was found dead Monday about 9:25 p.m.

Kennelty's family went looking for him when he didn't return from bow hunting that day and found his body.

Fritz said Kennelty wasn't wearing a harness and fell about 15 feet. He died from blunt-force trauma suffered in the fall.
