Hoover 50th anniversary
Wayne and Jeannette "Jan" Hoover of Butler celebrated 50 years of marriage Nov. 29 with a family dinner at Hill United Presbyterian Church.
Hoover married the former Jeannette McRae Nov. 30, 1958, at First Christian Church in Emmett, Idaho.
They have three children, Lynn Burbert of Chicora, Sherrie Heist of Hollidaysburg and Tracie Irwin of Edinboro.
They also have 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Hoover is retired from Armco, where he worked for 34 years in the production planning department. He also served for four years in the Air Force.
Mrs. Hoover is a homemaker and has worked numerous jobs, including a food service job for five years in the Butler School District.
The Hoovers enjoy traveling and bowling. They belong to the Butler Moose Lodge and Hill United Presbyterian Church, where they participate in various projects, including community dinners.
