Emma Teitt, 97, of Butler, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at UPMC Shadyside.

She was born Feb. 21, 1926, in Trafford, Pa., to the late Martin and Louisa (Malik) Zigarovich.

Emma has been a member of All Saints Parish, St. Paul Roman Catholic Church. She was a 1944 graduate of Trafford High School and received an associate degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 1946. She worked for many years at the printing division of Westinghouse in Trafford, then became a homemaker before working at T.W. Phillips in Butler. Emma will be remembered as a kind and loving person and a woman of faith.

She is survived by her son, Bob Teitt; and her sister, Betty Sherrill.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Teitt, whom she married on June 24, 1961, and who passed away on June 23, 2008; along with eight brothers and one sister.

The family would like to thank the staff of UPMC Canterbury Place for its compassionate care for the last four years.

TEITT — There will be no public visitation for Emma Teitt, who died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023.

Memorial donations may be made to the UPMC Senior Communities Benevolent Care Fund or your local food bank.

Arrangements are being handled by THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
