Yarletts

Karen Jean Yarletts, 63, of Volant (Village of Leesburg), Springfield Township, passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie on Friday, Oct. 27, 2023. She was born in Butler County on Aug. 19, 1960, the daughter to Clair Smith and Betty Jane Campbell Smith. She married Jeffrey Allen Yarletts on Sept. 8, 1990.

Karen loved her work. She worked for Allegheny Valley Schools in the Slippery Rock area as a behavioral specialist and following retirement continued to volunteer at the program center. She loved working with clients, especially with Louie Bunnell.

After winning a Harley, she enjoyed riding for many years with friends. She enjoyed tending to her flowers, canning things from her garden and reading and going to the beach with family. She will be deeply missed by her husband, son, family and many friends. She was kind, an excellent listener and always helped and cared for others.

Survivors include her husband, Jeffrey; and son, Madison Campbell Yarletts at home; siblings, Dixie Bowser, Ross Smith (Eloise), Ken Smith (Deb), Marcia Terwilliger, twin brother Kevin Smith, and Karla Smith (Matthew), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Leila Forsythe and Jennie Forsythe.

YARLETTS — The family of Karen Jean Yarletts, who died Friday, Oct. 27, 2023, will receive friends from 3 p.m. until the time of the service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 1778 Perry Highway, Volant, Pa. (Village of Leesburg).

There will be a celebration of life service at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Rebecca Rosengarth presiding.
