BC3 goes green with Irish concert series

A January performance by Celtic Crossroads at Butler County Community College will include step dancing, fiddling and a variety of instrumental and vocal music.

"The Music of Ireland," a new concert series at Butler County Community College, will feature three styles of Irish and Celtic music in shows over the next three months.

The group Celtic Crossroads from Ireland will perform at 8 p.m. Jan. 15. This group includes performers who step dance, fiddle, and play or sing a variety of Irish and Celtic music.

Next in the series The McDades, Canada's recent Juno Award-winning artists who perform in a fast-paced, upbeat style, will appear in concert at 8 p.m. Feb. 13.

To conclude the trio of shows, Cathie Ryan returns to present stories and vocals at 3 p.m. March 15. She also performed at BCCC in 2006.

All performances take place in the Succop Theater on campus.

A ticket for all three programs costs $50, or a ticket for any two concerts is $35. Individual tickets are also available. Call 724-284-8505 or toll-free 888-826-2829 Ext. 8429, or visit the Web site, www.bc3.edu.
