Daniel Swift
Daniel William Swift, 73, of Sarver, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.
Born July 23, 1950, in Meadville, he was the son of Clayton Swift and Ida Pletsch Swift.
He graduated from Randolph East Mead High School in 1969. Dan grew up farming. He was a skilled registered electrician, operating his own business for 45 years, and branched out into the installation of athletic scoreboards as well.
Dan helped so many people every day, especially his devoted wife, whom he cared for right up until moments before he passed as a result of a fall in the yard while bringing in the garbage cans. Dan was friendly and friends with everyone he met — giving rides to people, helping out in the township and his church. It was who he was. He was genuinely committed to his family.
Surviving are his wife of almost 50 years, Cheryl L. (Harding) Swift; his loving and loyal daughters, Crystal (Jerry) Boris of Renfrew and Meghan Swift of Mt. Oliver, to whom he dedicated his time and attention daily; his grandson, Robert Gerald McWilliams; and granddaughter, Jessica Marie McWilliams.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Chad Daniel Swift; one sister, Adelaide Swift; and various other relatives who were special to him.
SWIFT — Friends of Daniel William Swift, who died Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at FOX FUNERAL HOME, 410 W. Main St., Saxonburg.
