Faye Rowe
Faye C. Rowe, of Zelienople, formerly of Upper St. Clair and Hermitage, died Thursday, Oct. 19, 2023 — six months and a day after her beloved husband Robert — at Passavant Community.
Born in New Castle, to Arthur and Mary Bovard, her happiest childhood memories were with her beloved grandmother, Caroline Bovard, in DeLand, Fla.
She attended Jameson Memorial Hospital Nursing School, meeting bad boy Bobby Rowe and only agreeing to go out with him if it were a double date with her best friend, Sandy Baker. They soon realized they were a match, wanting to create a big, loving family.
She made lifelong friends when they moved to Hermitage, especially Marlyn, Darla, Maryann and Susan, the sisters this only child never had. When they moved to USC, they were active members of Westminster Presbyterian Church. She met more sisters in this friendly community, her good friends Susan Bostocky and Bonnie Gavlak. She returned to nursing at St. Clair Hospital then worked as a case manager after earning her degree from St. Francis University. She added three more sisters there, Susan, Maureen and Patsy. Everywhere she went, people were drawn to her warmth and empathy. She always offered a kind word, a hug and a prayer.
Our mom loved the beach, Elvis, grand slam tennis, crafts, hugs, dogs, celebrating birthdays, dancing, cuddling babies and watching her beloved grandchildren grow up. She was truly the world’s greatest grandmother, and she showered them with the same kind of unconditional love she got from her own grandmother decades before.
She is survived by her four children, Robert Rowe, Kristin (Michael) Klugman, Erik Rowe and Colleen (David) Morris; and grandchildren, Olivia, Ethan, Logan, Ruby, Ella, Noah and Emmett.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert, who in the last difficult years would just stare at her and say how beautiful she was, even as Alzheimer’s was stealing her away from him.
