Narrator James Neal sets the scene during a rehearsal of “Spirit of St. Mary's” being performed Friday through Aug. 28 by the Freeport Theatre Festival. Performances are at the Steele Farm, 2498 White Cloud Road, two miles south of Freeport off Route 356 in Allegheny Township, Westmoreland County. The historical drama written by area resident Rennick Steele portrays the formation of St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Freeport. Curtain is at 7 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
