Man accused of soliciting sex from agents posing as teen girl
A 21-year-old man attempted to solicit sex from law enforcement agents posing as a 14-year-old girl from Cranberry Township, according to documents filed Wednesday, Oct. 25.
After attempting to meet with the decoy girl in Cranberry Township, Asaf A. Abokshref, of Duquesne, was charged by state police with felonies unlawful contact with a minor, criminal use of a communication facility, corruption of minors and statutory sexual assault.
Documents showed the FBI Pittsburgh Child Exploitation Squad contacted Butler state police about Abokshref, saying they’d been in communication with him since Oct. 11. The agents had been posing as a 14-year-old girl.
Throughout those conversations, documents showed Abokshref repeatedly requested to meet the girl to perform sexual acts. Police said arrangements were then made for Abokshref and the girl to perform those acts in his vehicle on Tuesday, Oct. 24.
Abokshref arrived at the predetermined location and was met by law enforcement, documents showed.
Abokshref was placed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $50,000. His preliminary hearing has not yet been scheduled.
