Soccer, volleyball playoff games set

A number of District 9 and 10 teams are preparing for playoff games this week.

Both Karns City soccer squads earned the top seed in the District 9 Class A tournament and will host semifinal games at Diehl Stadium.

The winner of Monday's girls contest between Redbank Valley and Elk County Catholic will visit KC for a game beginning at 6 p.m. Wednesday.

In boys action, the Gremlins will host a game at 6 p.m. Thursday against the winner of Tuesday's quarterfinal between Port Allegany and Elk County Catholic.

District 10 — Slippery Rock's boys soccer team will meet Grove City in a Class 2A quarterfinal Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.

SR's volleyball team will play on Thursday in a Class 2A quarterfinal at a site and time to be determined against the winner of Tuesday's match between Mercyhurst Prep and Sharpsville.
