4:34 p.m. Friday — Ryan Mullin, 20, was arrested on an outstanding warrant on American Avenue. He was arraigned before District Judge Wayne Seibel and jailed in Butler County Prison in lieu of $5,000 bond.4 p.m. Thursday — A truck driven by Dennis Hawk Jr., 27, of Butler struck a parked SUV owned by Jodi Williams of Chicora in the Pullman Square parking lot. Hawk was cited for driving under suspension.July 1 — A tan-colored van driven by an unknown person backed into a Dodge Intrepid owned by Richard Cheney on Third Street.
4:35 p.m. Thursday — Charles E. McDowell, 23, of Edinberg and Nakia Bell, 20, of New Castle, both in Lawrence County, were charged with two counts each of retail theft and criminal conspiracy following two incidents on Thursday and June 28. They are accused of trying to steal a portable DVD player from the Wal-Mart store in Butler Commons Thursday and stealing a men's razor from the store and returning it for store credit on June 28. McDowell was jailed in Butler County Prison on two $10,000 bonds while Bell was released on two $3,000 bonds.
Friday — Armco Park in Slippery Rock Township reported vandalism at its banquet hall on Centerville Pike between 10 a.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday. Colored crayons were used to write on the hall's floor and walls.Friday — Betty Blauser, 48, of Parker reported the theft of around 3,600 gallons of oil from a holding tank at her residence at 161 Alleghany Church Road between Monday and Friday.Thursday — Crystal Grigrovich, 23, of Hilliards reported the theft of several unspecified items from her disabled vehicle on Branchton Road in Cherry Township between 10:53 p.m. and 11:55 p.m. The thief broke a window to gain access.10:50 p.m. Wednesday — Cars driven by Sarah Goetz, 20, of Portersville and Arlene Hindman, 77, of Butler collided at the intersection of Route 8 and the Clearview Mall exit. Goetz received unknown head injuries. Hindman was not injured. Both drivers were wearing seat belts. Goetz, who was exiting the mall parking lot, was cited for careless driving and for failing to stop and yield the right-of-way. Police report Goetz was using a cell phone at the time of the accident.
11:48 a.m. Thursday — A car driven by a 17-year-old Mercer female and a Crane Carrier garbage truck driven by Eric Stephan, 38, of Fredonia collided at the intersection of Route 208 and Blacktown Road in Pine Township. The 17 year old and her passenger, a 15-year-old Mercer girl, were taken by ambulance to Grove City Medical Center for treatment of minor and moderate injuries, respectively. Both females were wearing seat belts.
