Harry J. Boben
Harry J. Boben, 98, of Butler passed away on Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, at Butler Memorial Hospital.
He was born on Oct. 8, 1925, in Claytonia, Pa., the son to the late John Boben and Pauline Jerman Boben.
Harry was a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, SNPJ Lodge 76, International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Local 9 Pennsylvania for 75 years. He was an Army Air Corps — World War II Veteran. Harry was a member of the VFW Post 249 and American Legion Post 778. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bowling, golfing and visiting casinos. Harry was an avid Pirates, Steelers and Penguins fan. He loved being the life of the party and making people laugh.
He is survived by his wife, Helen DeCorte Boben, whom he married 75 years ago; three children, Harry Boben of Butler, Paula (Tom) Horne of Leland, N.C., and Joe Boben of Butler; five grandchildren, Jessica (Jason) Brown, Wendy (John) Clibbens, Shelly (Matt) Johnston, Joe (Megan) Boben and Evan (Becky) Boben; and five great-grandchildren, Carter Vannoy, Haley Vannoy, Jacob Johnston, Joshua Johnston and Clara Boben.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Ben Brown; two daughters-in-law, Mary Lou Boben and Anne Boben; and five brothers, John, Ed, Don, Paul and Ken.
BOBEN — Friends of Harry J. Boben, who died Friday, Oct. 20, 2023, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday from All Saints Parish, St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler.
A committal service will then take place at Calvary Cemetery, 1004 N. Main St., Butler.
