Ronald Lamp

Ronald D. Lamp, 83, of Lake City, Pa., passed away on Thursday, Sept. 21, 2023, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

Born Oct. 15, 1939, in Hollidays Cove, W.Va., he was a son of the late Archie Lamp and Marie Boley Lamp.

Ron lived in Weirton, W.Va., until 1997 when he and his wife, Barbara, moved to Lake City, Pa., to be closer to their grandchildren. There Ron took up the pastime of painting, and over the years blessed many friends and family with his beautiful artwork. He enjoyed working in his yard, visiting with his children and grandchildren, and having coffee with his wonderful neighbor, Pat.

Ron is survived by one son, Scott Lamp and his wife, Rene, of Myrtle Beach, S.C.; one daughter, Michelle Smelscer and her husband, Mark, of Evans City; two grandsons, Tristan (Hannah) Lamp of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Jack Smelscer of Evans City; four granddaughters, Autumn (Angel) Avila of Columbia, S.C., Hannah (Adam) Reichert of New Brighton, Pa., Lauren (Hunter) Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Megan Smelscer of Evans City; great-granddaughter, Isabella Smith of Colorado Springs, Colo.; one brother, Harold Lamp of Steubenville, Ohio; one sister, Kathleen McGaughey of Toronto, Ohio; brother-in-law, James Smith of Renfrew; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Sanford Boley, Archie Lamp and twin brother, Donald Lamp; his sister, Ruth Bodo; and his wife of over 51 years, Barbara Lamp.
