Rogerson

William Joseph “Flash” Rogerson, 89, of Butler died Tuesday at his home.

Born June 20, 1921, in Butler, he was a son of the late Joseph and Blanche (Eichenlaub) Rogerson.

He graduated from Butler High School and worked for the Armco Steel plant in Butler for 41 years.

He was a member of the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler and the Butler Elks Club and had enjoyed photography.

A veteran of World War II, he served with the U.S. Army at the 105th Station Hospital.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Mildred (Buckham) Rogerson, who he married Feb. 14, 1947; six children and their spouses, William J. Rogerson Jr. of Florida, Patricia and Donald Fiscus of Florida, Peter and Kathy Rogerson of Butler, Thomas and Marilyn Rogerson of Butler, Mark and Kathy Rogerson of Butler and Dean and Pam Rogerson of Butler; 14 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Inus Killmeyer; and a brother, John Rogerson.

<B>Rogerson </B>— Friends of William Joseph “Flash” Rogerson, who died Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2010, will be received at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler, from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Friday at 10 a.m. at the St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. Following cremation, inurnment will be in Butler County Memorial Park.The St. Paul Women and Christian Mothers will meet at 9:35 a.m. Friday at the church to recite the rosary.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hospice Program of the Butler VNA, 154 Hindman Road, Butler, PA 16001.
