Women leaders empower next generation when speaking candidly about challenges they’ve overcome
Emily Sheetz is responsible for development and execution of company strategy, information, technology, business insights and innovation as the vice president of strategy and IT at Sheetz.
Huma Mohiuddin oversees all wealth management teams, including portfolio management, wealth planning, new client acquisition and private banking within the market as market president for Pittsburgh at BNY Mellon Wealth Management.
Stephanie Sciullo is responsible for overseeing the business interests in the United States, Canada and Latin America, totaling more than $1.2 billion in revenue, as president at MSA Americas.
Corina Diehl became the owner and president of Diehl Automotive after her husband’s death and went on to purchase dealerships across the region.
Dr. Karen Riley seeks to create a new strategic plan and oversee the next era at Slippery Rock University as the college’s new president, a role she took on July 1.
Each of these women has achieved great success, and each did so in different ways that were detailed at the Women Shaping Our Region panel on Thursday, Oct. 12.
Now in its fourth year, the annual event has brought women and men together at the RLA Learning & Conference Center to discuss the challenges women face in their respective industries and how to shape the future in those spaces.
Simply the fact that this conversation is held and expanded upon year after year is a powerful statement for women in Butler County, but when you factor in the level of candid conversation happening here, it’s quite impressive.
Led by KDKA anchor and TV personality Kym Gable, the women shared stories of times when they weren’t acknowledged or given a seat at the table — and when they made themselves a spot at the table and ensured their voices were heard.
It’s these tough, but real, conversations that will make moving up the ladder easier for the next generation of women.
