Cranberry to hold annual drug take-back event
Cranberry Township will hold its annual drug take-back event on Saturday, Oct. 28, in the rear parking lot of the municipal center, 2525 Rochester Road.
The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will offer residents a safe way to dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications.
Participants are reminded to dispose of medications in their original container or by removing the medication from its container directly into the disposal box.
If disposing of medication in the original container, the township recommends removing any identifiable information.
Vape pens and other e-cigarette devices should also have their batteries removed before disposal. If they cannot be removed, check with chain stores which may accept them for proper disposal.
Liquid products, such as cough syrup, should remain sealed in their original container with the cap tightly secured.
Intravenous solutions, injectables and syringes will not be accepted due to potential hazard posed by blood-borne pathogens.
This event also will serve as a used eyeglass donation drop-off for the Cranberry Township Lions Club’s Mission-Vision to provide glasses to people who need them.
