Julia Dodd
Julia Dodd, 74, of Haysville Road, Karns City, died at 8:30 p.m. Sunday at her home after a long illness.
Born in Annisville, Washington Township, May 15, 1930, she was a daughter of Louis Wasyl Stadnyk and Ann Kowal Stadnyk.
She was raised in the Greek Orthodox faith.
Mrs. Dodd enjoyed playing the accordion; and in her earlier years, she played with local bands. In 1993, she and her sister, Helen, joined together as the Sunny Brownettes and entertained at the Tanglewood and Bruin Senior centers, Chicora Medical Center and the East Brady high-rise.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth Alan Dodd and his wife, Michele Mustello, of Chicora; a daughter, Patricia Diane Dodd of Carlisle; a sister, Helen M. Bowser of Butler; and a and a number of nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Kenneth Elmer Dodd, whom she married Sept. 26, 1951, in Russell, Ky., died April 21, 1992. She also was preceded in death by a brother, William Lewis Stadnyk; and three sisters, Rose Morgan, Catherine G. "Kate" Dodd and Anna Bruno.
DODD - Friends of Julia Dodd, who died Sunday, Oct. 10, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday atRICHARD D. HILLIS FUNERAL HOME, 102 Argyle St., Petrolia. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Rowe, pastor of Fairview United Presbyterian Church, officiating.
