Leland R. Miller

Leland R. Miller, 92, of Butler died Thursday at Slippery Rock Personal Care Home after a short stay.

Born April 25, 1912, in Center Township, he was the son of William John and Margaret Louise Dumbaugh Miller.

He retired from maintenance in the hot and cold department at Armco-Butler Works after 35 years.

Mr. Miller enjoyed traveling, piloting a plane, repairing lawnmowers, planting flowers and the art of conversation.

Surviving are a daughter, Betty Jane "Corky" Leith of Butler; a son, Robert L. Miller of Lynwood, Wash.; nine grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Agnes Houston Funkhouser Miller, who died March 9, 1981; two daughters; two sons; a sister, and 10 brothers.

MILLER - Private services for Leland R. Miller, who died Thursday, Nov. 4, 2004, were held Saturday at YOUNG FUNERAL HOME, Butler. The Rev. Matt Kail, pastor of Unionville Presbyterian Church, officiated. Burial was at Greenlawn Burial Estates, Mount Chestnut.Information also is available at www.youngfuneralhomes.com.
