Bender

Robert O. Bender, 96, of 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, passed away Saturday at his home.

Born in Millvale on Jan. 29, 1913, he was the son of the late Hartlep L. and Elizabeth C. Oesterling Bender.

He was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church, Cabot/Hannahstown.

Mr. Bender retired from Westinghouse, East Pittsburgh, as a supervisor on Aug. 1, 1975.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Fuchs Bender, on Apr. 7, 1998; two brothers and two sisters.

He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Catherine (Gary) Strawbridge of North Carolina; a son, Robert O. (Carolyn) Bender II of Jeannette; four granddaughters, Julie (Eric) Edder, Jodi (Tim) Baldwin and Amanda and Laura Strawbridge; and five great-grandchildren.
