July 4 festivities set

HARRISVILLE — The holiday festivities will take place July 4 starting with an 11 a.m. parade on Main Street. It will start at the Harrisville fire hall and end at the Harrisville Community Park.

An opening ceremony will take place at noon at the park and will be followed by activities, including rides, bingo, food vendors, crafters, children's activities, a pet parade and music.

Fireworks will take place at dusk about 9:30 p.m.

Events will take place on the evening of July 4 at the Grove City College football field.The Harrisville Community Band will play at 8 p.m. and will be followed by the Olde Town Harmony group. Fireworks will take place at 10 p.m.The Grove City American Legion Post 220 will hand out American flags. Food will be available.

The Zelienople-Harmony Rotary Club will kick off a Community Day celebration with a Fourth of July parade at 11 a.m., followed by competitions, entertainment and food at the Community Park off East Beaver Street.Events will be capped with fireworks at dusk.A 5K Run and Walk to benefit Friends of the Park will be held for the first time this year at 8 a.m.
