Slippery Rock has summer park events
SLIPPERY ROCK — Slippery Rock Parks and Recreation has planned several events for this summer.
They include:
• Watermelon Wednesdays will be each Wednesday from July 10 to 31.
Waldo Young, Rodgers and Anderson, Muddy Creek, which plays acoustic covers, and Brain Tighe will perform. Concerts are from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Admission and watermelon are free.
• The park, in conjunction with Armco Park, will have a children’s triathlon at 8 a.m. Aug. 17.
This event is for children ages 6 to 17; those signed up before Aug. 3 will get a T-shirt. The entry fee is $15 by Aug. 3 and $20 after that date.
• Mini camps will begin the week of June 24 for two age levels: ages 3 to 5 and 6 to 10.
The park will offer a variety of camps such as Beach Week, Space Out, Glamour Girls, Little Scientists, and Little Leaf, among others. Camps run from Mondays through Wednesdays and take place at the park.
