Butler mayor speaks at BC3's graduation
BUTLER TWP — Butler County Community College will graduate 405 students at its 42nd commencement ceremony at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
Maggie Stock, Butler mayor and college professor, will give the keynote address.
Kathleen Brown, a member of the Class of 1983 and director of the Donald D. Wolff Jr. Center for Quality Improvement and Innovation of UPMC, will give the Distinguished Alumni address.
Student Charles Le Gros will give the student address, and Alyssa Chappel will serve as student alumni representative. Presenting the tassel is student Jenette Armentrout.
Grand marshal Francie P. Spigelmyer, college vice president, will lead the procession followed by faculty marshals Melissa Philson and Stephen Mayfield. Student marshals are Karen Harnish and Mary Beth Galante, both also are BC3 instructors.
Graduates, family and friends are invited to attend a reception following the ceremony in Founders Hall.
About 185 students are expected to march during the ceremony. There are seven students receiving two degrees and one student receiving three degrees at this year's graduation.
The ceremony in the Field House will be streamed live online at www.bc3.edu.
