BUTLER CHURCH OF THE NAZARENE
Chrisann Green and the Rev. Barry Mohney will provide music for the 10:45 a.m. Sunday service at Butler Church of the Nazarene, 4410 Oakdale Road and Route 68.
A 40 Days of Purpose celebration dinner will be held at 4 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Chestnut Nazarene Center, 177 North Road, Butler Township. Tickets for meal are $2 each and reservations are available by calling 724-482-4116. There will no Sunday evening service at the church.
Bars of hand soap are being collected for the emergency Crisis Care Kits for missions. A receptacle is available in the church foyer.
CHRIST COMMUNITY U.M.
Sojourner, a contemporary Christian band, has planned a group singing event Sunday. A practice session will be held at 6:30 p.m. today at the Christ Community United Methodist Church, 205 N. Duffy Road, for those planning to sing.
Peace with Justice Sunday will be observed during weekend worship services.
Disciple I class graduation will be held during the 8:30 a.m. Sunday service.
Sunday school closing events will begin at 9:45 a.m. Sunday with the recognition of the "Heroes Among Us," honoring teachers and leaders who have served during the past year. A light breakfast will follow at the chuck wagon in Oz Hall.
The 2005 Confirmation Class will be received into membership at the 11 a.m. Sunday service.
An informational meeting for those participating in the upcoming Dominican Republic mission trip will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday.
The youth group will hold a Thank You Fun Night at 5:30 p.m. Sunday for volunteers who have assisted with the youth programs and events during the past year.
Adult and youth volunteers are needed for the vacation Bible school program "Circle G Ranch" in July.
Members assisting with Camp Creation vacation Bible school at the Island Playground will attend a training event at the Grace @ Calvary Lutheran Church from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Monday. Registration is required.
The Senior Dry Bone Posse will host its final meeting for the season at 6 p.m. Wednesday. The Junior Dry Bone Posse final meeting is at 6 p.m. May 26.
The mission team is in need of supplies and volunteers for several local projects. To participate, contact Don Loomis.
Toiletry items for the emergency health kits will be collected at the church during weekends in May. Financial contributions are also being accepted.
CHRIST'S OUTREACH
The Rev. Kenneth Palmer, pastor of the First Church of the Nazarene in Aberdeen, S.D., will be guest minister at the Sunday services at Christ's Outreach Church, 120 Walker Ave. Music will be provided by soloist, Amanda Sybert and the Tom Walker Family.
A family fellowship dinner will be held at 5:45 p.m. Wednesday. An adult Bible study, led by Tom Walker, and special education classes for youth and children will follow the dinner.
COVENANT PRESBY
Awards Sunday will be held at 10 a.m. Sunday in Winters Chapel at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 230 E. Jefferson St. Children of the Sunday school will receive pins and bars for attendance, memory work and participation in Christian education programs. Teachers and leaders will also be honored.
A choir appreciation reception to honor the Covenant Choir and its director, Jeffery Abbott, will be held at 12:15 p.m. Sunday in the Assembly Room.
At 10:15 a.m. Sunday the Seekers Class will hear a recording from the National Public Radio "Speaking of Faith" series on the issue of the death penalty. The class meets in the Assembly Room.
FIRST BAPTIST
First Baptist Christian School, a ministry of First Baptist Church, 221 W. New Castle St., will present an elementary school program at 7 p.m. Friday in the church sanctuary.
The Rev. Dave Maitland, senior pastor, will be the speaker at a college and career-age singles retreat from 6 p.m. Friday through 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Slippery Rock Baptist Camp, 130 Elliott Lane, Slippery Rock. Cost is $20.
On Saturday, the Kingdom Seekers Sunday school class will participate in a family outing at McConnell's Mill State Park. Those participating are to meet at 10 a.m. in the park's upper parking lot. The class will also meet at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the church social rooms for a family breakfast. Each family should take a breakfast item to share.
The students, faculty and staff of First Baptist Christian School will hold their annual picnic Tuesday at the Alameda Park Masonic Shelter Tuesday. They will leave school at 9:30 a.m. and parents and guardians will pick up the students at the park at 3 p.m.
The Association of Independent Baptist Churches of Western Pennsylvania will convene from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pittsburgh's Middletown Road Baptist Church for the association's annual meeting and election of officers. The focus of the gathering will be campus evangelism.

A pipe organ tour will be held from 11:30 a.m. to noon Saturday and 3:30 to 5 p.m. Sunday in the sanctuary at First United Methodist Church, 200 E. North St.

GLADE RUN U.P.
The Building and Grounds Committee of Glade Run United Presbyterian Church, 1091 Pittsburgh Road, Valencia, will host a work day from 8:30 a.m. to noon on Saturday.

Donations of 1 pound coffee cans with lids, plastic frosting containers and drink pouches are needed for vacation Bible school.
A Fifth Sunday picnic luncheon will be hosted by the Deacons on May 29 following worship. Participants with last names beginning with A-L should take salads, and those with last names M-Z are should take desserts. The Deacons will provide meat, baked beans, chips and beverages.

A Common Shop will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at North Main Street Church of God, 1201 N. Main St. Ext. The shop will provide free clothing, household items and toys for those in need. There are no income limitations. Participants should use the north side entrance.
A continental breakfast for adult Sunday school teachers will be held at 8:45 a.m. Sunday. The breakfast is in appreciation of service, and there will be no charge.
North Main Youth will hold a bake sale before and after the 10:30 AM Sunday service. Proceeds benefit the Youth Mission Trip Fund.

The youth of the church will meet at 10 a.m. Saturday at White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church for a highway cleanup on a 2-mile stretch of Route 68.

Graduates will be honored during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday service at West Sunbury United Presbyterian Church, 215 E. Church St., West Sunbury. Youth director Todd Eckstein will present each graduate with a gift.

WHITE OAK SPRINGS PRESBY
This Sunday will be the last day of primary Sunday school for the season at White Oak Springs Presbyterian Church, 102 Shannon Road, Renfrew. Primary Sunday school participants and teachers will be recognized at the 9:45 a.m. Sunday service.
Youth group members will meet with members of the Meridian and Trinity Presbyterian youth groups at 10 a.m. Saturday at the church for a highway cleanup along Route 68. In case of poor weather, a rain date of May 28 has been set.
