Sonia S. 'Nana' Sinkevich

Sonia S. "Nana" Sinkevich, 79, of Penn Township died Friday evening at home with her family in Fox Chapel.

Born Aug. 6, 1925, in New York City, she was the daughter of Rt.

Rev. Gregory and ParaskeviaKopach Stefchak.

She was a member of St. Andrew Orthodox Church in Lyndora and was an active member of the Sisterhood of St. Andrews for more than 45 years.

She is survived by her daughters, Tamara Grefe and Nancy Paulsen Branch; a son, S. Gregory Sinkevich; six grandchildren, Stephanie and Kira Paulsen, Andrew and Alexandra Grefe, and Michael and John Sinkevich; a great-grandson, Alexander Paulsen; two sisters, Ann Fanelli and Alexandra Stefchak; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Steven Sinkevich, whom she married Sept. 7, 1947, and who died Jan. 1, 1995.

SINKEVICH - Friends and family of Sonia Sinkevich, who died Friday, Dec. 3, 2004, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the GEIBEL FUNERAL HOME, 201 E. Cunningham St. Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at St. Andrew Orthodox Church, 205 Penn Ave., Lyndora. The Rev. Joseph D. Wargo will officiate. Burial will be in North Side Cemetery, Butler.Panachida Services will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.Memorials may be made to Family Hospice and Palliative Care, 250 Mt.
