Frank P. Olexsak, 88, of Highfield died Wednesday.

Born May 3, 1919, in Bitumen, Clinton County, he was a son of John and Cecelia Blaschak Olexsak.

As a young man, he worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps in the Cook Forest area. During World War II, he served with the Army 3rd Infantry in the European Campaign.

Mr. Olexsak worked in the stainless finishing department at Armco-Butler Works Plant 2 and retired in 1982 after 37 years.

He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, American Legion Post 778 in Lyndora and Armco Veterans' Club.

He was an avid fisherman and hunter and was a member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving are his wife, Rose Medwid Olexsak, whom he married Sept. 27, 1942; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Frank V. Olexsak and Richard L. and Carol A. Olexsak, all of Butler, and David N. and Karen S. Olexsak of North Washington; three grandchildren, Mrs. Ronald (Christine) Wagner of Baden, and Erica Olexsak of West Sunbury and Philip Olexsak of North Washington; and two great-grandchildren, Dustin and Kasey Wagner of Baden.

As the last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

<B>OLEXSAK </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Frank P. Olexsak, who died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday. at <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>, 201 E. Cunningham St. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.The St. Paul Guild and Christian Mothers will recite the rosary at 9:40 a.m. Saturday.Graveside military honors will be accorded by American Legion Post 778 and VFW Post 249.Information also is available at www.geibelfuneralhome.com.
