Ramsey

Verna Mae Love Ramsey, 76, of Chicora Road in Chicora died Saturday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

She was born May 6, 1932, in Butler, a daughter of the late Howard Love and the late Martha Louise Rettig Love Derwecki.

Verna was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She was a Roman Catholic.

Her husband, Marlin J. "Sonny" Ramsey, whom she married Dec. 30, 1952, preceded her in death Dec. 15, 2000. A son also preceded her.

Surviving are three sons, Richard Ramsey of Camp Hill, Christopher Ramsey of Chicora and Daniel Ramsey of Waynesboro, Miss.; a daughter, Katherine Ramsey of Ellwood City; her stepmother, Lucille Love of Penn Township; a brother and his wife, Richard Love and the Rev. Barbara Love of Harmony; and three sisters, Mrs. Art (Betty) Carney of Lyndora, Mrs. Lee (Mary) Murphy of Rimersburg and Elizabeth Scarnapo of Butler. Six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
