Ferne L. Metzger Friedlander, 72, of Butler died Saturday at the Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Monday, April 12, 1937, in Pittsburgh, she was the daughter of the late Meyer Metzger and the late Mildred Cohen Metzger.

She was a homemaker and enjoyed playing bingo, watching TV and also enjoyed her cats and especially her family.

Mrs. Metzger Friedlander is survived by her three daughters, Robin and her husband, Gary Jewart, of Chicora, Jayne Jenner of New York, N.Y., and Mia and her husband, Mitch Tepper, of Butler. Also surviving are three stepgrandsons, Jordan, Jesse and Joshua Tepper; one brother, Leon and his wife, Ann Metzger of Wexford and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard O. Friedlander, whom she married June 28, 1959, and who died March 16, 2000.
