Josephine L. Piroch, 94, formerly of Lyndora, died early Thursday morning at Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A native of Lyndora, she was born there April 4, 1915, a daughter of the late Macien and Rozalia Krul Szwaja.

A member of St. Fidelis Catholic Church in Lyndora, she had been a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Ladies Guild and the Polish Historical Class.

She was a talented seamstress.

She was the widow of John E. Piroch. They married Oct. 7, 1939, and he died Jan. 13, 1987.

Surviving are a daughter, Patricia Tarcha and her husband, John, of Butler; a son, Thomas M. Piroch and his wife, Deanna, of Sebastian, Fla; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother.
