McHenry

Charles Eugene "Mac" McHenry, 84, of Chestnut Ridge Road, Emlenton, Clarion County, died Thursday at his home.

Born in Foxburg on May 30, 1924, he was the son of Wesley Hillis and Mary Bashline McHenry.

He was a 1942 graduate of St. Petersburg-Richland High School, and an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Knox, Monroe Community Club, Foxburg American Legion and the VFW at Parker.

In his earlier years, he enjoyed hunting. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

He retired in 1984 as an engineer with Baltimore & Ohio Railroad.

Surviving are one son, Keith McHenry and his wife, Carla, of Mentor, Ohio; two daughters, Carol Traister and her husband, Rodney, of Knox, and Nancy Shultz and her husband, Brian, of Awendaw, S.C.; five grandchildren and their spouses, Andrew Traister and his wife, Mindy, of Knox, Angela Pace and her husband, J.J., of Charlotte, N.C., Amy Vile and her husband, Kevin, of Laurel, Md., Patrick Shultz and his wife, Allison, of Hillsboro, N.C., and Emily Knichel and her husband, Brian, of Summerville, S.C.; and five great-grandchildren, Mia Traister, Kellen and Kalea Pace, and Dylan and Brooklynn Knichel.

Also surviving are two brothers and their spouses, John "Sam" McHenry and his wife, Martha, of Texas, and Richard "Dick" McHenry and his wife, Yetta, of Turkey City; one sister, Betty McHenry of Parker; his mother-in-law, Myrna Ashbaugh of St. Petersburg; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and brothers and sisters-in-law.

He was preceded in death, by his wife, Norma Jean Ashbaugh McHenry, who died Oct. 31, 2002. They were married March 6, 1948, in St. Petersburg. Also preceding him in death were three brothers, Clair, Clyde and Sharon McHenry.

"Mac" McHenry will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Hile Funeral Home</B>, 802 Grove Ave., St. Petersburg, Clairon County.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Paul United Church of Christ, Twin Church Rd., Knox, with the Rev.
