Butler High junior diver Heath Calhoun placed third in the PIAA Class AAA diving competition at Bucknell University Saturday.

Calhoun scored 462.75 points, finishing behind Zach Nees (533.05) and Connor Kuremsky of North Allegheny, who won with a 541.5 effort.

The Seneca Valley girls 400 freetyle relay team of Julie Titley, Makena Lynch, Angela Panza and Abby Myers placed 12th with a time of 3:33.54.

MIAMI - Atlanta Braves star Chipper Jones will miss the rest of the World Baseball Classic because of a strain in his right side that has bothered him for aweek.Jones, who is 0-for-10 with six strikeouts in the WBC, was scratched from Sunday's 9-3 victory over the Netherlands after he aggravated the injury. He planned to return to Braves camp in Kissimmee for treatment.With prompt treatment, Jones said, he likes his chances to be ready for opening day.

LAS VEGAS - Claiming O.J. Simpson was dealt an injustice, the brother of the football star's former girlfriend is soliciting money to appeal Simpson's conviction and prison sentence on kidnapping and armed robberycharges.Barrett Prody, 35, has created a nonprofit corporation and an Internet Web site, the Society Against Legal Injustice Inc., to raise money for Simpson.But Simpson lawyers Yale Galanter in Miami and Gabriel Grasso in Las Vegas said they don't think the fund is needed. Galanter said Simpson's trial fees and costs were fully paid and his appellate fees and costs were "basically paid." He declined to provide amounts.

MIAMI - Cleveland Browns wide receiver Donte Stallworth hit and killed a pedestrian with his Bentley on Saturday morning on a busy causeway linking Miami and Miami Beach, police said.Stallworth was headed toward the beach when he hit Mario Reyes, 59, around 7 a.m., said Miami Beach police spokesman Juan Sanchez. Reyes was taken to a nearby trauma center, where he was pronounced dead about an hour later. He was near a crosswalk but it's not clear if he was crossing legally.Stallworth, 28, was cooperating and no charges have been filed, Sanchez said. Officers drew blood to test for drugs or alcohol, which is routine. Sanchez said results from the test could take anywhere from three days tothree weeks.Police would not say where Stallworth was coming from or where he was headed.

LAS VEGAS - Isiah Thomas said on Sundayy that he has been doing OK and helping theNew York Knicks prepare for the NBA draft since police responded to an accidental overdose at his home last October.Police were called to the home Oct. 24 and said they found a man passed out on the floor after an accidental overdose of sleeping pills. Authorities have not publicly identified the man as Thomas.
