Brendan Malone, playing for Mars after spending several years with Saxonburg, homered, doubled and drove in two runs as Mars blanked Saxonburg 6-0 at Pullman Park in Eagle County League baseball action Friday.

Jim Devine tossed six shutout innings for Mars (12-1), who held Saxonburg (9-5) to just two singled off the bat of Evan Oswald.

Mike Bruno and Bill Shallenberger also drove in two runs for Mars.

Elsewhere:

• Hugh Mulvey's two doubles led a 12-hit attack as Cranberry Township defeated Pine-Richland, 14-2 in six innings.

Mike Mulvey pitched five innings for the win, striking out three and walking none.

• Jared Rectenwald tossed a complete game with five strikeouts as Zelienople downed Callery 12-7.

• Scott Carney struck out three and walked three, also pitching a complete game in Harmony's 6-3 win over Wexford.
