Janet A. Battin, 73, of Gibsonia, Adams Township, formerly of Meadville, died Monday morning at her home.

Born in Meadville, Dec. 8, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Sanford Mullen.

A homemaker, Mrs. Battin was a member of the St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church of Cranberry Township.

She enjoyed golf and was a member of the Treesdale and Meadville country clubs.

Surviving are her husband, Kenneth E. Battin, who she married Feb. 6, 1957; a daughter, Jill Zoria and her husband, Nick, of Cranberry Township; three sons, William Battin and his wife, Maureen, and Jeffrey Battin and his wife, Melissa, both of Wexford, and Dr. John Battin and his wife, Christine, of Morgantown, W.Va.; and her grandchildren, Adam, Alyssa, Ryan, Connor, Sean, Nicholas, Michael, Alexander, Alec and Kienan. Also surviving are two brothers, Joseph Mullen and his wife, Donna, and William Mullen, and his wife, Debbie, both of Meadville; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Mullen.

<B>BATTIN</B> — Friends of Janet A. Battin, who died Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, will be received at the <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be in St. Kilian Church, Clark and Cherry streets, Mars, Thursday at 9 a.m. Father Charles Bober, pastor, will officiate. Graveside services will be in Greendale Cemetery, 700 Randolph St., Meadville, on Thursday at noon.Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.Directions and condolences are available at www.mcdonald-aeberli.com.
