1:47 p.m. Tuesday - A truck driven by Fritz Nickle, 40, of Harmony struck the rear of a car parked on Route 19 in Portersville. Edward Haney, 73, of New Castle, who was seated in the car, complained of back pain after the crash. He was treated at Jameson Hospital in New Castle and released.5:05 a.m. Sunday - A pick up truck driven by Bradley Eiler, 18, of Eau Claire struck a guardrail at Branchton and New Hope roads in Cherry Township.Friday - Several undisclosed items valued at nearly $2,400 were taken between 7:48 a.m. and 3 p.m. in a burglary at the Hazelnut Road home of Jeffery Groves in Fairview Township.
Wednesday - An undisclosed amount of currency and coins in a large container was taken between 7 a.m. and 1:05 p.m. in a burglary at the Perrine Road home of Peggy Sue Shay in Wolf Creek Township, Mercer County.
Tuesday - Brian Fieldler, 18, of 209 Cedar Ave., was arrested for corruption of minors, loitering and prowling at nighttime and disorderly conduct. Charges stem from a Sept. 22 incident in which Fieldler was caught on the roof of a downtown business during the night.Tuesday - A light gold Free Agent, Hell Cat BMX bike valued at $250 was stolen from the parking lot of McDonald's, 200 W. Main St., between 4 and 7 p.m.Monday - Two Hewlett Packard Compaq notepad computers were stolen from a dorm room on the Grove City College campus. The computers were valued at $1,000 each. Police are asking students to lock their dorm rooms due to recent thefts from unlocked rooms.3:47 a.m. Sunday - Josiah Lewis, 20, of Mercer was charged with two counts of driving under the influence after he was stopped on South Center Street for an expired registration. He was also charged with minors prohibited from operating a vehicle with alcohol in system and underage drinking.3:27 a.m. Sunday - William J. Altenbaugh, 20, of 413 Spring St., was cited for underage drinking. Altenbaugh was a passenger in a vehicle that was pulled over at the intersection of South Center and West Poplar streets.1:45 a.m. Sunday - David Harton, 50, of 325 New Castle Road, Butler, was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence after being stopped for a speeding violation on West Main Street.1:39 a.m. Saturday - Thomas Cloud, 54, of 124 Ferguson Road, Boyers, was arrested on two counts of driving under the influence after he went through a red light at the intersection of Main and South Broad streets. Cloud was also cited for limitations on driving on the left side of road.
Sept. 29 - Justin J. Herrington, 19, of 201 Driftwood Drive, Saxonburg, was cited for underage consumption and a traffic violation. Police stopped Herrington's vehicle on Kiester Road after he failed to stop at a red light.Friday - Joshua S. Burnette, 22, of 250 Towers Hall was charged with disorderly conduct when police allegedly caught him smoking marijuana in the apartment complex.
