Non-profit to hold free food distribution
Community Partnership will be holding a free produce distribution beginning at 2 p.m. Friday at the Butler City Farmer's Market on South Chestnut Street.
The distribution is meant to serve people unable to access produce due to the closures of some Butler Transit Authority bus routes. Available produce grown locally through the “Good Things Grow Here” program includes green peppers, tomatoes, squash, eggplant and others.
The distribution will be offered on a first come, first served basis until all the produce is gone. Because the produce is grown for a program, CP is required to collect personal information such as name, ZIP code and number of people in the household.
CP also received a donation of produce from Katie's Kitchen this week that they received from Ambrose's Farms.
