Marburger elected treasurer of state treasurers’ association
County Treasurer Diane Marburger was reelected as a member and treasurer of the County Treasurers’ Association of Pennsylvania’s executive board at the association’s recent 74th annual convention in Harrisburg.
During the 24 years Marburger has served as county’s elected treasurer, she said she has served as association president for two terms from 2010 to 2012. She has also served as a trustee for the association.
In addition, she has been chairwoman or member of the treasurers’ association’s legislative, small games of chance, education and dog law committees, and represented the association on the Pennsylvania State Association of Elected County Officials, which advocates for county row offices.
She said she is proud of all the county row officers who have been recognized or served in leadership positions in their respective state associations.
“The significance of Butler County row officers serving in leadership positions for their respective statewide committees showcases our dedication, talents and the confidence our fellow colleagues from across the commonwealth have in our ability to serve in these executive leadership roles,” Marburger said.
This year, Butler County Register of Wills and Clerk of Orphans’ Court Sarah Edwards was elected to serve as president of the Registers of Wills and Clerks of Orphans’ Court Association of Pennsylvania.
“It’s good for county residents to see they’re taking on leadership rolls,” Marburger said. “We’re ambassadors at large for the county. We’re active in our associations and we serve in leadership roles.”
Marburger also said she gets calls from newly elected treasurers from across the state for advice, and other county row officers receive similar calls for their counterparts.
